James P. McCarthy, President of Northland Communications, and Tricia Sticca, Director of Sales, recently presented awards to sales team members who surpassed their 2016 annual goal while consistently providing solid, reliable telecommunications solutions to the Central New York business community. Those individuals who demonstrated outstanding sales achievement are Lauren Mattia of Utica (President’s Club Award), Mary DeTraglia-Henry of Utica, John Grabau of Dewitt, and John Matthews of Clinton.
Recipients were recognized at a luncheon, held at Turning Stone Resort and Casino on March 27, 2017. Utica College Men’s Hockey Coach, Gary Heenan, was the keynote speaker, and reminded all in attendance, “Sometimes, all it takes to be successful is dreaming big and being bold.”
At the luncheon, members of the sales team recognized colleagues in other departments, who go above and beyond, for being bold and making an extra effort for customers. Those recognized include Dan Amado, Strategic Relationship Manager, Marc Angiulli, Technical Specialist, Jim Blackburn, Sales Engineer, Tim Eichhorn, Senior Project Engineer, Jay MacLean, Technician, Peggy McConkey, Customer Support Representative, Mary Ann Moshier, Customer Support Representative, and Dean Tyczynski, Network Services Manager.
“While installing new telephone equipment at a customer site a few months ago, an employee mentioned she was sad her phone was being replaced, as it held a voicemail from a friend who had passed away,” recalled nominator Tish Gelardi, Strategic Relationship Manager, as she presented Jay MacLean with his award. “Jay was able to extract the voicemail from the old phone, and present it to the employee on a USB drive to be listened to at any time. This is just one example of our team going above and beyond. This is what sets Northland apart.”
