Accession Now 'MaX UC'

UCaaS | By Northland Communications Team

Our video conferencing and hosted phone software, Accession, has a new name: “MaX UC.” The product manufacturer, Metaswitch, announced the rebrand, along with several new product enhancements, which users can look forward to this week.

More than 2,500 local remote workers are currently using our Accession, now “MaX UC,” platform to stay connected with colleagues and customers while working from home. Northland is providing this software free to new customers, as well as current customers who need to expand their services, through June 30, 2020.

“When customers update their Accession applications, they will see the same platform they know and love, just with a different name,” said Jim McCarthy, president. “Our partners at Metaswitch made this change to reflect the powerful, all-in-one solution that this is. It’s your video conferencing platform, your phone system, your instant messaging tool, and so much more.”

Accession users will be prompted to update their applications on Monday, April 27. Once the update is complete, the name change will be reflected across users’ desktop, mobile, and meeting applications. Accession Desktop will become MaX UC Desktop, Accession Mobile will become MaX UC Mobile and Accession Meeting will become MaX Meeting.

Metaswitch, the manufacturer of the product and a national leader in unified communications technology, announced the name change in conjunction with several upcoming product enhancements. The shift in branding reinforces the company’s focus on UCaaS, a technology that connects and integrates various communications systems and collaboration tools, as well as mobility and the user experience.

Enhancements to the platform, which will become available to Northland users on Thursday, April 30, include SMS texting capabilities, BG Call Analytics, and iACD, Integrated Automatic Call Distribution. Customers interested in learning more about these new features can set up an appointment with their account rep by calling (315) 624-2216.

Cloud-based Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) systems, like MaX UC, enable users to work from anywhere with an internet connection. In addition to video conferencing, MaX UC licenses include a hosted soft-phone client, which is essentially a complete phone system that sits on the user’s computer desktop or mobile device, giving them the ability to place, park, transfer, and manage calls, just like they would in the office.
