Northland Communications Good Neighbor Day Set for June 28th

The Story of Northland’s Good Neighbor Legacy

As president of Northland Communications, Jerry McCarthy was committed to helping and promoting local community organizations. In 2020, to honor Jerry, the McCarthy family planned ‘Good Neighbor Day’ to raise awareness and funds for local nonprofits on what would have been Jerry’s 89th birthday. Although the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the in-person event, the Good Neighbor program was formed, and local nonprofit organizations started meeting monthly to collaborate and support one another. Three years later, we will finally be able to host the event in person on June 28, 2023 at NBT Bank Stadium!

Good Neighbor Day Details

Participating nonprofits have until June 28th to raise funds for their missions and sell tickets to the Syracuse Mets versus the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders game. When purchasing tickets, spectators can choose any participating nonprofit to receive $4 per ticket sold.

The nonprofit who raises the most money will receive $10,000 from Northland Communications and will get to throw out the first pitch of the game! $5,000 will be donated to the nonprofit coming in second place. Throughout the night, other surprise matches and donations will be announced during the event. Northland’s team, our families, and hundreds of people will be attending.
