Changes to Outlook Integration in MaX UC Desktop

Changes to MaX UC Outlook Integration

We want to inform you about an upcoming change regarding the Outlook integration feature in MaX UC Desktop.

Currently, MaX UC Desktop integrates with Outlook. This integration allows you to see if your colleagues are available to talk or message and start calls or chats with them from Outlook. However, this feature works best with Outlook 2013, which Microsoft ended support of in April

What Does This Mean for You?

In the upcoming MaX UC Desktop update (Version 3.20), which is scheduled for October 2023, you will notice a few modifications:

Presence Changes in Outlook: You will no longer see if your colleagues are online or busy within Outlook or your email windows.

Changes in Contact Info: The icons depicting the availability status of your colleagues will no longer be visible within Outlook or your email windows.

Calling and Messaging Changes: Even if you use Outlook 2013, the buttons that initiate calls or direct messaging from your email will no longer be present. You’ll need to use MaX UC Desktop for these functions.

Important Note:
The setting for displaying your calendar availability in MaX UC Desktop will remain unaffected. You can continue to check the box under Settings>Chat (“Change my status based on Outlook calendar events”) as usual.

We understand that transitions like this can bring questions and concerns. Our support team is here to assist you in any way possible. If you have inquiries or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your dedicated Customer Experience Manager.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we continue to improve our software to align with the latest technological advancements.
