[Syracuse, NY, May 2] Northland Communications, a Central New York-based telecommunications provider, is pleased to announce its second annual ‘Good Neighbor Day’ event will be held on Thursday, June 20, at NBT Bank Stadium, in Syracuse, New York.

Northland’s ‘Good Neighbor’ campaign aims to build awareness and raise funds for local nonprofits.

“Our father and telecom community pioneer, Jerry McCarthy, truly believed in being a ‘good neighbor’ and that is the mission that we continue to live at Northland,” said Maureen McCarthy Tracy, vice president, community + connections, Northland Communications. “We strive every day to create quality connections for our customers and our communities who trust us with their mission-critical needs.”

This year’s Good Neighbor campaign has now officially begun and will culminate at the June 20th Syracuse Mets game versus the Rochester Red Wings.

Participating nonprofits will be conducting their own fundraising up until the event for a chance to win one of several monetary prizes from Northland Communications and The McCarthy Family Foundation.

The public is invited to attend ‘Good Neighbor Day’ and when purchasing tickets for the game, can choose any participating nonprofit to receive $5 per ticket from the Mets.

There will be a nonprofit showcase on the stadium concourse at 5:30pm and then the award ceremony where prizes will be given will take place on the field at 6:00pm, followed by the first pitch of the game.
