Northland’s Updated COVID-19 Plan

An update from President Jim McCarthy regarding the coronavirus pandemic:

As promised, our plan in response to COVID-19 continues to evolve as new information becomes available.

Since my last update, our team has participated in several COVID-19 conference calls hosted by both state and federal telecommunications associations for guidance on best practices. We’re continuing to keep a close eye on updates from federal, state and local government officials, local media outlets, as well as the NYS Department of Health, and Centers for Disease Control.

Our executive team has been meeting daily to review our plans and make necessary adjustments. In our effort to keep our employees and customers as safe as possible, we are:

+ Closing both our Holland Patent and Syracuse offices to outside visitors, effective March 16, 2020, and encouraging our team members to work from home
+ Proactively increasing capacity within our network to avoid any potential congestion for both our voice and data networks
+ Continuing to monitor our networks on a real-time basis to ensure they are adequately sized to accommodate the traffic patterns associated with our new reality
+ Making additional arrangements with our partners, should additional increases be needed, so we can deliver bandwidth increases in a timely manner
+ Working with customers on technology plans to support remote workers
Again, please reach out to your Northland contact if you have any questions or concerns related to your technology plan or call us at (315) 671-6200.
Jim McCarthy, President
